Join us Saturday, September 14th at 1 pm as we welcome Christopher Kenney of the McKinley Presidential Library & Museum for his lecture “Catalyst for Change: The Assassination of President McKinley.” He will explore how the assassination of William McKinley changed the Secret Service forever. Using archival photographs and primary documents, learn how the Secret Service’s primary role changed from combating counterfeiting to protecting the president.
The 2019 McKinley History Speakers Series is presented by the McKinley Memorial Museum and the McKinley Memorial Library. The events will take place in the Auditorium on the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial grounds.
All programs are free, open to the public, and handicap accessible. The museum is located in the balcony of the auditorium. The balconies and restrooms are not handicap accessible.The first floor of the auditorium is handicap accessible.
The McKinley Memorial Museum will be open for tours before and after the program.
