Amber Farris, Museum Director

Amber earned her bachelors degree from Youngstown State University with concentrations in Art and Psychology.

While working toward her Master’s degree in American Studies she served as a Graduate Assistant at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor (The Steel Museum).

Amber accepted the position of museum director for the McKinley Memorial Museum at the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial in Niles, Ohio in May 2018.

She has held board positions ranging from Secretary of Treez Please, President of the Wick Park Neighborhood Association, to member of the 2016 Youngstown Charter Review Commission.

Amber is currently working to modernize the McKinley Memorial Museum and expand the museums community outreach. 

Amber spends her free time doing historic hobbies such as spinning, weaving, crochet, and gardening.
