This is the next in our series of monthly events celebrating the centennial of the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial. Dr. Kevin Kern, associate professor of History at the University of Akron, is the co-author of the first new textbook on Ohio History in half a century: Ohio: A History of the Buckeye State (Wiley Publishing, August 2013). While Ohio History is an important focus of Kevin Kern’s work, he also specializes in the history of the social sciences in the late 19th/early 20th century, particularly the development of the American Anthropology. Dr. Kern will speak on Imperialism and the Spanish-American War. This event is free and open to the public. While reservations are not required, they are strongly suggested, and may be made by calling 330 652 4273. This event is free and open to the public.
