Presidential desks

An interesting read. And since McKinley’s desk is not mentioned here (since the “Oval Office” was not used to describe the President’s office until after McKinley’s tenure) I have included two photos of William McKinley’s Presidential Desk.

Here is one of our Curator, Trish Scarmuzzi, standing near the “Presidential” side of the partner desk.

And here is the “Secretarial” side of the same desk. This side of the desk was used by McKinley’s Presidential Secretary, George B. Cortelyou.

And here is a partner desk that McKinley used in his law office in Canton, Ohio. It is now on exhibit on our east balcony.
