Remembering Joseph G. Butler, Jr.

On this, the 175th anniversary of his birth, we remember and thank the man who was so instrumental in the founding of the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial, Joseph G. Butler, Jr. Butler became a lifelong friend of William McKinley while the two attended school at the little white one room school house in Niles, OH. The site of this schoolhouse is where the National McKinley Birthplace Memorial now stands. We are so very grateful for all of his hard work and dedication!
